Why Were BISP Camp Payments Suspended
BISP had initially introduced camps to ensure transparency and reduce corruption in payment distribution. However, it became evident over time that camps caused a lot of inconvenience for many women. They had to travel long distances, stand in long queues for hours, often without any proper arrangements for shade, water, or seating. Moreover, in many cases, payments were delayed or incomplete.
To address these issues, BISP has suspended the camps for three days Friday, Saturday, and Sunday in June 2025. This temporary halt allows the authorities to transition smoothly to the new model of payment, after which all camp operations will be permanently shut down across the country.
New Retailer-Based Payment Method
The future of BISP payments lies in digital and retail-based disbursement. From now on, beneficiaries will receive their installment through BISP-approved retailers in their local areas, ensuring accessibility and ease of process.

This transition is part of a broader government effort to use digital tools and localized infrastructure for social welfare payments. The new method will also improve monitoring and reduce chances of corruption or deductions.
